215km Detour

Was going home on a Friday. Same old 30km, 30 minutes. But White Horse had other ideas...

Like taking the old road from Gombak all the way to Bentong. Cause the last time we only went as far as Bukit Tinggi. Fine by me.

A short way off the main road found us this place... What a pleasant discovery!

Imagine a jungle with conifer trees... A bit out of place, no?

The remainder of the journey to Bentong was rather uneventful, though... Hmm now that we're here, how do we get home? Not particularly fond of backtracking, I suggested you know, the Gap way to Kuala Kubu Baru...

Turns out I was mistaken... That route doesn't start from Bentong, but Raub... Plus dark clouds are forming... What the hell, just go with it la...

A very sore ass and n-kms later, here we are, the Gap (elevation 800m)! Due to my miscalculation, I wasn't sure whether to go up or not. And risk running out of fuel (there won't be any petrol stations until Kuala Kubu).

The sign at the guard post said "GO", so...

Kuala Kubu Baru dam, the rest of the way should be pretty familiar... There you go, a 215km, six hour trip home. Two hill resorts "conquered", two to go... Happy now? We may not be able to do stuff like this anymore in the future, you know...
